To provide USAID/Egypt with an independent final evaluation of Egypt’s National Book Program in order to assess the impact the NBP had on literacy, extracurricular reading and increased access to a broader range of reading materials. The task order also examined constraints to the effective utilization of the NBP school libraries to improve literacy and recommended ways for addressing these constraints. The evaluation findings and recommendations were used to inform the Egyptian Ministry of Education how to effectively utilize and capitalize on this significant investment for school libraries to improve literacy.
